RENEWABLE ENERGY LEADS NEW CAPACITY SOURCES IN 2019
Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) released data that shows the mix of renewable energy sources (biomass, geothermal, hydropower, solar, wind) were the leading source for new U.S. generating capacity in 2019.
Renewables have now surpassed 22% of the nation’s total available installed generating capacity.
FERC foresees renewables dramatically expanding their lead over fossil fuels and nuclear power in terms of new capacity additions during the coming three and it seems the transition to renewable energy becomes easier every day.
