Join us for one of our two virtual events to discuss how we keep Florida above sea level. Rafe Pomerance, long time climate champion, leads the discussion on the Upper Limit Project and how we Keep Florida Above Water. To attend either the Feb. 9 at 7 p.m. or Feb 13 at 1 p.m. session, please visit the links below. If you would like to attend, please register by noon the business day prior to the event.
Say NO to Nopetro

Join us on Thursday, Feb. 16 at 5:30 p.m. for a virtual discussion about Liquified Natural Gas (LNG). Speakers will discuss the current state of LNG from the local to national level.
Brooke Ward, Florida Food and Water Watch – LNG in Florida; Tyler Slocum, Public Citizen – FERC and Nopetro; Dannie Bolden and Pastor Chester Davis, Community Advocates will speak about concerns and issues with the proposed facility, and what the future holds.
If you would like to attend, please register by noon the day prior to the event.
Nopetro has authorization to export up to 51.75 billion cubic feet of liquified natural gas (LNG) per year, which includes exports from a proposed facility on 60-acres in the heart of Port St. Joe.Trucks will move LNG-filled shipping containers 1,329 feet from liquefaction trains to a newly constructed dock, where they will be loaded onto marine cargo vessels destined for export to Central America, South America, and the Caribbean.
February Hiking Trip in Tallahassee

Our February Hike will be at Leon Sinks Geological Area through the Woodville Karst Plain on Feb.18. We will discuss the unique geological features of this area while connecting with old and new friends of ReThink! The hike begins at 11 a.m. and will take an hour and a half. For more information, please contact miles@rethinkenergyflorida.org .
Postcard Party in Tallahassee

Let’s all get together and throw a postcard party! The postcard party is Tuesday, Feb. 21 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at ReThink’s office at 603 MLK Jr. Blvd. We will address and mail postcards to past attendees to take action at Reclaiming Florida’s Future this year! This is a great opportunity to meet with fellow environmentalists and discuss how we bring clean energy, climate equity and environmental justice to all Floridians. Please RSVP to Jaccquelynn@rethinkenergyflorida.org.
Congratulations to our SEED Team!

Solar Energy Equity Deployment (SEED) is one of the eight most recent initiatives to receive funding from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory to research the equitable adoption of solar energy in residential and commercial areas.

Register NOW! Reclaiming Florida’s Future will be held on March 22, 2023 at state Capitol. We will meet with local legislators to share our thoughts on environmental bills presented during this legislative session. Please join us at this event to share ReThink’s mission of empowering Floridians from all over the state to take action and achieve clean and just energy.
Get involved with us!
ReThink Energy Florida needs your help! Volunteers help us reach community members, their elected leaders and advocate for clean energy through our Reclaiming Florida’s Future (RFF) For All Event.
RFF is March 23, 2023. Volunteers are the key piece to a successful RFF event. We can’t do this without you! As an RFF volunteer, you could:
1. Create and distribute flyers, share events on social media, assist with communications research and edit drafts.
2. If outside of Tallahassee, volunteer as a travel captain, assist with meeting buses and/or connect drivers with attendees who need transportation.
3. Assist with legislative appointments for attendees.
4. One the day of, volunteer with staff at registration tables, handout packets, serve lunch and more.
To volunteer or find out more, reply to this email or reach out to Jacquelynn@rethinkenergyflorida.org
Funding Florida’s Future
Activists in Florida want to join Rethink and Reclaiming Florida’s Future For ALL in a day of advocacy. However, the increased cost creates a struggle. We’re aware of individuals, chapters, even high school students from around the state would come if their travel were more affordable. We anticipate a need of an extra $5,000 for the travel costs associated with a successful event.
As we prepare for the event with helpful donations like yours, we expect the education and transformation to move the needle toward clean energy policy in Florida.
Moving in the Right Direction!
