The Regional Energy Whiz Expo offers hands-on STEM education through fun competitions for students in Leon County and surrounding areas, aimed at 3rd-8th graders. The expo includes the Solar Sprint and Solar Cook-Off events.
In the Solar Sprint, teams design, build, and race solar-powered cars.
In the Solar Cook-Off, teams build solar cookers to prepare a food dish.
The annual Energy Whiz Expo is an engaging, team-based competition where students bring renewable energy concepts to life. Energy Whiz is an opportunity for students to:
o Work as a team to solve real-world challenges
o Explore renewable energy through innovative, hands-on design
o Build confidence in science, engineering, and creative thinking
o Celebrate their work in a fun, community-centered environment
Whether you’re an educator looking to engage your students, a youth group leader ready to bring STEM learning to life, a family, or have a small group of friends wanting to participate, the Energy Whiz Expo is for everyone! Join us for a day of sun-powered innovation and student brilliance as we spark the next generation of clean-energy leaders!
