Summer may be winding down, but our work doesn’t stop!
From youth education to community engagement, here’s a look at what ReThink Energy Florida has been up to this summer and what’s ahead this fall.
A Summer of Action and Impact
ReThink has been busy making an impact in communities across the state! This summer, we:
- Celebrated World Ocean Day with a screening of The Hidden Gulf at Beech Kombucha in St. Petersburg
- Conducted community outreach and energy education through our SEED Program in low- to moderate-income neighborhoods in Tallahassee
- Trained over 150 Floridians in policy advocacy through Reclaiming Florida’s Futurein preparation for the upcoming Florida legislative session
- Hosted our annual Breakfast Fundraiser and connected with ReThink supporters in Tallahassee
- Launched the Upper Limit Project Youth Council to elevate young voices across the region in the Upper Limit Project’s work
- Co-hosted a screening and panel discussion of The Story of Plastic at Greenlight Cinema in St. Petersburg
- Engaged 173 students through our annual Energy Campand summer outreach across Leon County

Get Ready for Energy Ball!
As we look toward a brighter future, we’re excited to invite you to our 2026 Energy Ball: Blue Horizons: The Future is Renewable.
Join us for an unforgettable evening celebrating the people, partnerships, and progress shaping Florida’s clean energy future. Together, we will explore where clean energy meets coastal resilience while supporting ReThink Energy Florida’s mission to build a more sustainable and equitable future for all.
When: October 8th from 6:00-9:00pm
Where: Carriage House at Goodwood Museum and Gardens
1600 Miccosukee Road, Tallahassee
We are thrilled to welcome back Revival as this year’s Energy Ball band! Get your dancing shoes ready because they know how to keep the celebration going all night — you won’t want to miss it!
In addition to live music, the evening will feature many returning favorites, including the Green Outfit Contest, wine toss, silent auction, delicious buffet, and more.
All proceeds from the Ball directly support our programs, youth education, policy advocacy, and reducing energy burden in low- to moderate-income communities.
We hope to sea you there to celebrate the tides of change we are creating together!

Celebrate Florida Changemakers
Do you know an energy leader in your community? Nominate them for the 2026 Energy Innovator Awards!
Each year, ReThink’s Energy Innovator Awards honor leaders from across Florida who are making an impact in their communities through leadership, innovation, education, and advocacy.
We invite you to nominate an outstanding leader, young person, business, or organization that is creating positive change in their community.
Award recipients will be recognized during ReThink Energy Florida’s annual Energy Ball. Finalists will receive two free Energy Ball tickets. Nominees can be from anywhere in Florida and do not need to be present to win.

Volunteer with Us
We’re looking for volunteers to support event logistics, decorations, fundraising, silent auction donations, outreach, and more for the upcoming Energy Ball. Whether you have volunteered or attended the event before, or this is your first Ball, we are grateful for any support you can provide.
The next virtual Energy Ball Volunteer Meeting is Monday, August 24th at 5:30pm on Zoom. Join us to learn more about volunteer opportunities, connect with our team, and help bring this event to life!
