Summer is in full swing, and so is our work to build a cleaner, more equitable energy future for Florida.
From empowering communities through energy education to expanding partnerships and celebrating our natural environment, we’re excited to share the latest updates, upcoming events, and opportunities to get involved.
ReThink in the Community

eThink has been busy this month with events across the state!
From preparing for the next legislative session to celebrating our shared blue space, we have been connecting and educating stakeholders about the importance of a just and sustainable energy transition.
Some our recent events have included:
- The Hidden Gulf Screening and Community Discussion in St. Petersburg to celebrate World Ocean Day
- How an Idea Becomes a Law Legislative Virtual Training with Reclaiming Florida’s Future
- The Ride the Wave, Sea the Solution Annual Breakfast Fundraiser in Tallahassee
If you were not able to make our Annual Breakfast Fundraiser, you can still support our work! Donate and help us make waves of change across Florida.

Energy Camp Week 1 Was a Success!

Last week, we kicked off the first week of Energy Camp with an incredible group of young energy leaders!
Campers were able to learn about renewable energy and sustainability through hands-on experiments, interactive activities, and engaging discussions. It was inspiring to see their curiosity, creativity, and excitement as they learned how energy shapes our everyday lives and discovered ways they can help build a more sustainable future.
There’s still time to join us! Registration is open for our final week of Energy Camp from July 20-24, 2026.
If you know a young student who loves science, solving problems, and having fun, don’t miss this opportunity for a week of hands-on STEM activities and energy exploration. Spots are limited, so register today!
Energy Camp is designed for rising 3rd-6th graders (2026-2027 school year). Older youth who enjoy working with kids are also encouraged to apply as Junior Counselors.

Upcoming Legislative Training: How to Meet With Your Legislator
If you have never met with an elected official to let them know about the issues that you care about, this training will guide you through the process! We will go through how to set up a face-to-face in-district meeting with a legislator, how to prepare for the meeting, how to engage productively, and how to follow up. You’ll come out of this training with the confidence that you can get your point across effectively.
This training is part of a series to be held ahead of the legislative session, which will build on each other. The ultimate goal of these legislative trainings is to empower Floridians to understand the power they hold, and how to wield it in order to successfully advocate for legislation that reflects their best interests.

Updates From the Upper Limit Project

We continue to honor the legacy of Rafe Pomerance by uplifting our work on the Upper Limit Project, which seeks to establish an upper limit for sea-level rise—a simple, measurable goal that complements the Paris temperature target and provides governments, businesses, and communities with a clearer understanding of the long-term consequences of today’s emissions.
In particular, we are actively planning with partners an effort to bring the attention of the world to sea level rise while the G20 Summit of World Leaders is happening in Miami in December 2026. To follow this effort more closely, please sign up for the Upper Limit newsletter on the website.
The Upper Limit Project is also launching a Youth Council to support community and youth engagement leading up to the G20.
If you are a student or know a youth leader, encourage them to apply to have a hands-on opportunity to engage in sea level rise education and advocacy.
The application for the Upper Limit Project Youth Council is open to youth who are:
- 16-26 years old
- Based in southeast U.S. or the Caribbean
- Interested in climate justice and sea level rise
Applications close July 5th.
Additionally, if you or your organization are interested in being a part of this effort, please reach out.

Following the film, attendees are invited to stay for a brief panel discussion featuring local experts who will answer questions and share insights on microplastics, human health impacts, plastics policy, and solutions for reducing plastic pollution.
