The Florida Legislative Session starts today!
Lawmakers will be making decisions about laws that will affect your everyday life, including how high utility regulators can let your power bills go.
Would you like to be involved in those decisions?
Our legislative engagement program Reclaiming Florida’s Future (RFF) will be working throughout the session to put people in contact with their legislators at key points during the process. We provide talking points and training, so that you can go to the Capitol prepared!

Take Action:
Offshore Oil and Gas Leasing

Offshore drilling is dangerous. It harms the natural environment, our communities, economy, and worsens climate change. Despite this, the Department of the Interior is proposing a new 5-Year Offshore Drilling Plan that includes the Gulf, California, and Alaska.
In the Gulf of Mexico, this plan includes waters off of Florida that had previously been protected.
Rethink Energy Florida was founded after the devastation the Gulf faced from Deepwater Horizon. We cannot let history repeat itself. We need to protect our ocean, coastal communities, and future generations.
Public comments to the Department are open until Friday, January 23, 2026.
Have your voice heard and urge for no new leases!
Congressional leaders have introduced legislation to permanently ban new offshore oil and gas drilling across the East Coast, West Coast, Eastern Gulf of Mexico, and the Arctic Ocean.
Tell Congress to protect our coasts:
Save the Date:
2026 Energy Camp

We are excited to announce the dates for our 2026 Energy Camp!
When: June 22-26 and July 20-24
Where: 1834 Mahan Drive, Tallahassee, FL
Energy Camp is our largest annual children’s outreach program led by our team of interns and volunteers that is geared towards children grades 3-6. With a curriculum focused on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) this camp emphasizes a broad understanding of environmental issues related to energy with topics that include agriculture, urban planning, water quality and the impact of waste. This camp is exceptionally interactive and allows children to combine STEM and their creativity as they learn to make solar ovens, fix bikes and construct landfill liners.
This camp is an excellent way for children to explore the impact of fossil fuel usage and the importance of understanding the options renewable energy offers. At Energy Camp, youth are given the space and encouragement to apply the information they learn to develop fundamental skills needed for them to solve energy issues and reduce their environmental impact.
