Internships Available
We are seeking to fill intern positions for Campaigns Coordinator and Volunteer Coordinator.
Campaigns Coordinator tasks include:
– Support Campaigns Team with assistance in meeting facilitation and note-taking.
– Support Campaigns Director in planning and implementing Reclaiming Florida’s Future Year-Round, ReThink’s legislative advocacy program
– Assist in the development of specific legislative policy positions based on Rethink Energy’s legislative agenda
– Make recommendations on specific legislative policy positions to take, based on Rethink Energy’s legislative agenda.
– Translate legislative information into understandable, digestible information for the public.
– Presents to the ReThink Leadership for consideration which issues ought to be addressed by the Organization, and updates and researches legislative and policy aspects of key energy issues.
– Be available to review communications and provide policy advice when necessary.
– With Political Advocacy Coordinator, Policy Coordinator, and Research Coordinator develop and implement the plan for addressing the issues selected
– Communicate internally with members of the Campaigns Team as well as other ReThink Energy Florida staff.
– Communicate externally with volunteers and other stakeholders as well as, elected and appointed decision-makers.
Campaigns Coordinator candidates should come prepared with a basic working knowledge of Florida’s legislative process. Knowledge of the Public Service Commission, and local City and County governments is also valuable for this position. The position is likely to present opportunities for public speaking.
Volunteer Coordinator tasks include:
– Develops volunteer program, to include working with other staff to develop a list of skills required, finding new volunteers, and placing them/ matching with skills set
– Works with supervisors to develop and execute methods of volunteer recruitment and retention
– Determines skill sets needed and recruits individuals to fill skill sets
– Trains and coordinates volunteers
– Coordinate volunteers efforts and tracking
– Conducts volunteer assessment and motivation
– Updates the Volunteer Handbook and the policies and procedures
– Be a contact for the volunteers in case issues or questions arise
