Supply drive for Hurricane Irma Recovery

ReThink Energy Florida is partnering with several organizations, here in Tallahassee and down in South Florida, to help aid in the recovery process in the wake of Hurricane Irma. We will be collecting donations at our office at 919 Old Bainbridge Rd Tallahassee, FL 32303 starting immediately through MONDAY (during our office hours listed below) to send to the Urban Paradise Guild down in Miami. Needed items include: 

  • Tents – Big Tents & Small pop-ups

  • Canned juice, milk, and soup

  • Foods for infants, elderly persons, or persons on special diets, if necessary.

  • For Infants and Babies: Baby formula, diapers, bottles, powdered milk, and medications.

  • High-energy foods, such as peanut butter, jelly, crackers, granola bars, and trail mix.

  • Ready-to-eat canned meats, fruits, and vegetables.

  • Gift Certificates for Big Box Stores

  • Gift Certificates for Food Stores

  • Antibacterial wipes

  • Bike locks

  • Gloves

  • Goggles

  • Latex gloves - all sizes

  • Manual can opener

  • Pet supplies

  • Ziplocks - all sizes

  • Backpacks

  • Clorox wipes for tables

  • Cooking Thermometers

  • 2-inch sterile roller bandages (3 rolls).

  • 3-inch sterile roller bandages (3 rolls).

  • 4-inch sterile gauze pads (4-6).

  • Antiseptic.

  • Cleansing agent/soap.

  • Medical supplies

  • Nonprescription drugs

  • Personal hygiene – toothpaste to tampons to toilet paper

  • Sterile adhesive bandages in assorted sizes.


Office hours: Thursday (10 am-5 pm), Friday 1-4 pm, donations will also be accepted at the coastal clean-up event this Saturday

We are also partnering with the Florida State University's National Organization of Women (FSU NOW) and we will be collecting the following items to send to the Lotus House and Miami Rescue Mission Center (for Women and Girls). These items are more female centered and include diapers, tampons, children's socks and underwear (all sizes), women's bras, baby wash and lotion, toothbrushes and toothpaste, shampoo, new razors, soap, towels, deodorant, and pillows.  

There will be 8 boxes for donations across Florida State University's campus starting tomorrow, our office will also be open for collections. 

There will also be a fundraising event for Hurricane Irma relief at the Chick Fil-A at 1755 W. Tennessee Street on Saturday, September 16th, from 1-8 pm. A portion of sales during this period will go toward shipping and supplies and other relief efforts to South Florida.
