St. Augustine March to Ban Fracking

On August 4th, we will march across the Bridge of Lions and rally in front of city hall to demand a statewide fracking ban. Time and time again, the state legislature has failed to take action against this dangerous practice.

Fracking threatens our economy, environment, and public health. Concerned citizens and community leaders are ready to send a strong message to Tallahassee. It is time to put people over polluters. Join us as we stand up to the fossil fuel industry and fight for Florida’s future!

This is a family-friendly event, sponsored by multiple environmental and political organizations in Northeast Florida. Rally speakers will include Jen Lomberk (Matanzas Riverkeeper), Dr. Gary Bowers (Physician), V Miller (Campaign Director at Rethink Energy FL), and Nick Famularo (Environmental Activist). Nancy Shaver (Mayor of St. Augustine) will also be making a pre-march appearance.

Parking is available on Anastasia Island. We will be gathering at the park on the east side of the Bridge of Lions. Marching will begin promptly at 11:30AM. BYOW: Bring your own water. (No plastic bottles please)
